SMVillage-Gen. Submission: Night time play

"You know," Elation said, trying not to pout a little, "I don't get why no one opposed this idea."  

"Because." Algieba smirked just as they arrived to their destination, "it sounds like a great idea!"


"Last one to the swings is a rotten egg!"  Shizuku ran passed her in her pjs-successfully claiming a swing of her own.

Elation sighed, and shook her head seeing Bellatrix and Algieba race up the jungle gym which was impressively high.   The scene, with their small group- wait ,what constituted as small?-  climbing over everything and just having a good time on the playground,  would've been normal if it wasn't close to nine-thirty at night.

It had started as a simple idea, really.   Not to long before, it had started with her, Bella and Algieba in her apartment, watching some movies and generally bored at the time.  They were tossing out ideas of what to do when- Elation will say it was a moment of insanity- she casually tossed out, "Why not go to Lady's Playground?"

And now, somehow, they ended up heading out and inevitably picking up others along the way.

Elation was certain that Oceana was probably going to kill them. Maybe.

"Or maybe not." She laughed softly to herself before going to join them. She found an unoccupied swing and contented herself to watching the others while swinging on it.   She had to admit, it was rather unpredictable-dimly she can hear shrieks of laughter from the Merry-go-round of pushing it faster.  -  to say the least to see some  people actually latching to the idea.

It's probably funny, a mix of day clothing and people in pjs running around the playground. She snorted a little as the thought that it's great that it wasn't really cold yet.  "We'd all wake up with colds."  

She glanced over and smiled more, slowing her momentum a bit.  "Hey, you're Katharina, right?"

"Uh-Yes!"  It looked like she might've startled her. "Elation, right? We met before-"

"Yeah," Elation nodded, "When that idiot thought it was bright to try and steal Al's purse."    That got a smile, and Elation was pleased to see such a nice smile it was. "Having fun?"

"Hm.. yes. It seems like everyone is."  

Following the girl's gaze, Elation stifled a laugh.  Just who got them to play tag?  It seemed that Bella was going to charge -over-  the seesaws to get at  one of the other girls.  She lost track of where Algieba went, but had no doubt that the woman was having fun somewhere.

"Hm, they are.  I guess it was a good idea after all." Elation hummed for a moment, pondering what to say to her for a moment, "So...do you enjoy reading?"

"Yes- you could say I've got an affinity for books."

"Really? I've just finished reading 'Diamond in the Rough' not too long ago. It's supposedly written by an old friend of Sailor Jupiter's.  She wrote another one that was based on a Pegasus."  Elation swung back and forth a bit, "Ever read it?"

"I..um.. haven't gotten around to it yet."

"I'll lend it to you."

"You don't have to- I could get it from the library."

"I don't mind." Elation told her, "Besides, it'll be a great excuse to see you again. It'd be nice to have someone to chat with about books and stuff."   She paused, "Want to go around on the Merry-go-Round? I see Algieba and Bella are back. Maybe we can get them to give it a push?"

"Sounds dangerous."

Elation stopped the swing and stood, "But fun. What's a little danger there? After all, we're risking the wrath of Sailor Oceana being out so late in the park.  I think we can handle a merry-go round."   She offered her hand to Katharina, "What'd you say?"

"Sure!"
