Literature Text

Once upon a time, there was a goddess, who was very much alone.  From her infinite power, she fashioned herself three beings with equal halves of her power.  One male and two females.

The male, she named Soma, was created from bright celestial light and had become fair in appearance with a golden cresent moon that adored his forehead.

The female, for whom she had favored, she named her Hilal.  Created from the neutral eneries -neither bad nor good- the dark skinned child with even darker hair, had upon her brow three crescent moons. Each of a different color-gold, black and silver.

Finally, with what little magic she had left, the Goddess crafted her final and youngest child.  Lovely, though she was-with faded navy blue hair, dark skintone and even fetching eyes- this child was weaker than the others and horribly disfigured around her mouth.  Upon her brow was the black crescent moon and she was named Aiman.

For centuries in this primordial existence, the goddess lived with her children. However, as time wore on so two did her children.  Their ideals no longer seemed to fit with one another. They soon began to pick favorites of the budding life in their little galaxy.

Soma, having grown vain, yet somehow still just, declared only the light should have domion.  He raised his children to think similarly as he.

For Aiman, she took on the ones that had darkness inside of them or had the inclincation of darkness inside. However none were truly evil-though if they were, it mattered not to Aiman.

In the end, Hilal took the ones that were neither, that did not wish to chose, or were both.  For Hilal did not wish to side with either one of her sibilings and stayed from the conflict as best she could.

However, this only lasted for a time before something caused all three siblings to go at war with each other. Their war stretched far and wide across the galaxy, destorying many inhabitable planets.  It did not stop until the Goddess who created them stepped in and ceased their destruction before casting curses upon them and their lives.

With that the Goddess left, withdrawing from all that sought her.

The feud ceased and there was peace for a time...

.. Until something sparked the next Blood Moon War.

---
He must not stop. He cannot stop.  Even though every part of his body screamed for it. He wasn't going to let some kids and a traitor stop him.   Behind him, he could hear them. Gritting his teeth, he glared at them as they surrounded him.

"This is the end, Father."  The black haired girl said, standing in front of the others. "You cannot hide any longer! Surrender!."

Mutinous angry eyes glare harshly at the girl, "You traitorous bitch! After everything I've done for your pitiful corrupt soul!"

"He talks too much." The annoyed purple eyes narrow in on him. "Time to go, Orion."

He sneered at the man, "Disrespectful brat! I will teach you all! The White Moon WILL prevail!"

"Watch out!" Zemyna yelled throwing her hands up, "Gunman!"

Her brother, in concert with Diamond, shot at the man known as Orion.   However, Orion disappeared right before their eyes, under the cover of darkness.  Leaving only more of the poor twisted creatures behind for them to fight.

"Damnit!" Diamond swore, reloading as the girls fired off their power at the swarm. "I told you we shouldn't have let him off!"

Serene, now known as Sailor Achelois, winces at the criticism. "I.. He's ..I had to give him a chance."

"Yeah well.." Diamond shot another one of the demons before breathing out. "Wonderful. Alright, now what?"

Gunman sighed and looked over at his twin sister. Both had grown up in this strange extra dimension.  Ever since their sister had escaped, they had formed something of a team at the behest of the Pluto that had been with them.  Now, with the keys that dangled from each of their necks, they would not get lost in the fourth dimension while hunting down the creatures that Serene's father had unleashed into this place.

Now, knowing only his name was Orion- as Pluto had informed them- they had to track the man down again.

"We might be able to still track him down." Achelois said with a sigh, " Can you track the remaining energy?"

"Maybe." Diamond answered looking at his wrist. "Though.. you might not like it."

"Why?"

---

"Neph?"

The dark hallways were lit only by candles as the salmon pink haired senshi wanders them looking for the girl. "Neph? Where are you?  We can't hold dinner forever!"

Grumbling, Babara finally tracks down the wayward girl, sitting in a tree outside the library window of the palace.  "There you are. "

Nepheline, the daughter of the current reigning queen and king of this world, looks up at her mother's guardian in exasperation. "Yes, yes, here I am."   She swung her legs over the tree branch, closing her book. "I'll be in in a minute."

"Oh no, " Babs said leaning out the window with a hand offered to the girl, "I know you! You'll just read and ignore dinner, again! Now get in here."

"Fine.." She sighs before crawling to the window, " I don't see why I have to be there. I can take dinner in my room."

"You know how your mother feels about you and the others eating family meals." Babara told her and escorting the girl down the dark halls. "Now just play nice alright?"

Annoyed the young Princess shook her head and went on to the  dining hall where her mother, her frigid stoic mother, sat at the head of the table with the others already seated.

"So you finally showed up." Linda said with vague annoyance. "About time."

"You could eat without me." Nepheline told her sourly before sitting at her usual seat, "I don't see why you all bother with this."

Her mother, like usual, said nothing but eats the strangely colored vegetables-or is it fruit?  Nepheline could never tell evern after all these years.

Seeing as she won't get a response out of her mother or her mother's senshi, she ate as well and made a face. Wonderful. It's meat flavored. Inwardly she wished it was different however in this on this planet there is little that they could do for any of it.

After all, her parents told her that when they first came here, her mother used the Dead Moon Crystal to create this oasis in a bitterly cold and unyeliding enviroment.  Even now, their 'sun' was nothing more than a self-generating energy 'orb' that was to replace the crystal that her mother used earlier.

And so this is how their life was.

A mimickery of a place from long ago that she's only heard of in books.  Nepheline knows her history, she knows what happened but it doesn't stop her from wishing...

She pokes at her food with the fork, her gloved hand twirled the fork as she glances around the silent table- again.   It's been like this ever since...

The Silence is broken by a loud explosion that rattles every window in the castle.   Nepheline found herself looking over Babara's shoulder as  the sky outside the domed kingdom becomes covered in dark gray shadows.

"Hurry!" She could hear Linda yell at the others, "We have to get the Queen and the Princess somehwere safe! Moblize the gaurds- we're under attack!"

--

Looking down at her hands, Mayari wishes she could become invisible.  Aespecially right now with her brother doing something right and she-

"It's ok, Princess." Lady Vesta said to her with something of a sigh. "You'll get the hang of it. Even Lady Juno had trouble."

"Hey!" Juno growled at her younger sister. "I was not that bad."

Vesta gave her a look, "Please, the last time you tried to do that step, you fell on your face in front of everyone."

"Guys, you don't have to fight." Pallas smiles brightly at her two younger sisters, "After all, you both fail miserably doing the wazlt too!"

"Pallapalla!"

Not like any of this helped the lavender haired princess who sighs softly. Her birthday- her sixteenth birthday at that- was in a few days and  they were learning some of the latest as well as traditional dances to mark the event.

From what she was told, she would also be bestowed with the power of the Pink Moon Crystal- or rather it should pick her to be it's next guardian.  She's nervous, as far as Mayari knows, no one has ever been rejected by the Moon Crystal. Ever.

What if she's the first?

She eyed her little brother who might as well have been her fratenal twin at this rate.  He's handsome, like their dad, and outgoing like their mom.  He always seemed to know exactly the right thing to say, while she always floundered for the appropriate words.

In fact, she knew that the servants of the palace speculated that he would be chosen over her for the throne.  It's obvious that he was simply made for it.  She was just..

"Maya?"

Her brown eyes focus in on her brother's somewhat worried golden ones. He's taller than she is, his hair is pale sea foam green that tyled with the buns at the back of his head and short pigtails.   On his forhead is a similar insigina as her own- golden crescent with a red teardrop jewel in the center.

"Yes?" She hates that she's always so..quiet. However her lessons her mother and Diana had drilled into her. She inadverently shrunk into herself a bit more, gripping her dress as she remembers her grandparents and Diana's parents.   She could never be like them. Graceful, respected, everything she most certainly isn't.

"Are you ok?" He frowns looking at her with concern.  She felt embarassed for having caused a little scene like that.

Smiling a little, Mayari says, "I'm fine, Iah. I think I have to study."  She excuses herself from the reherasl and quickly left the small ballroom as fast as she could.

She doesn't mean to be like this but.. the idea of ruling over such a vast swath of land and then she hasn't even seen any parts of it because of her mother's overprotectiveness..

Her father had told her that it was because her mother worried that there might still be a few rebels out there that still want to kill them.  Mayari couldn't imagine it though.  From what she remembers of her lessons, there shouldn't even be an issue of leadership any more.

Now, free of her dancing lessons, Mayari wanders down the nearly abandoned hallway lost in her own thoughts.  So lost, she didn't even notice the orante door behind her creak open and mist filling up the hallway. Not until she turns around to see strangely dressed warriors standing there in twaht was the once empty hallway.

"Wow..it's really different." the girl in yellow said looking around, "Wonder if we've been gone long?"
"Can't be." The dark skin boy replies to the girl, "I mean..?"

"Hate to break this up." The white haired man said, "But we've got company."

Mayari squeaks when they all turn to look directly at her.  "Excuse me, "the black haired young woman said, "Is this the Golden Palace?"

"W..What?" Mayari steps back, frightened of them.

White haired man sighs before pointing a nasty looking weapon at her, "Look, girl, we're not here to hurt anything but you're wasting valuable time!"

She screams, hoping it would summon up her mothers guards- anyone- to her rescue.  Help me!, she thought ferverntly, please!
First chapter in Inheritance. Isn't that great but most beginings never are.
